I have a special Ting Ministries update to share with you today! Some of you have been following the story of our TM Pakistani family (see link in Ting Ministries' post below).
Safiya, the oldest daughter in this family, has been praying for the opportunity to continue her higher education and go to university in Pakistan. She wants to be doctor! As a fellow university student, here in the US, I am familiar with the exorbitant costs associated with higher education. At Bucknell, the tuition is upwards of $60, 000 per year. I am thankful for the endowment of the university and scholarship opportunities that have allowed me to pursue my majors in Creative Writing and Russian studies here.
Safiya did research on different programs in Pakistan to pursue her goal of becoming a doctor. The annual cost is far below standard costs for a liberal arts education here in the US.
It will only cost Safia $1,700/year or a total of $6,800 to complete the four year program and become a doctor! That's the equivalent of my meal plan per semester at Bucknel!
As a young college student with her own aspirations, I ask you today, for Safiya - will you consider helping her acheive her goal? It is not much for us, but this fee is too high for her to ever dream of by herself. We need your help!

Dear Friends - We have an update on our TM Pakistani family! We heard from our partners that Safiya, the oldest daughter of the TM family waiting for a sponsor, wants to go to university to become a doctor! This is not a light decision on her part or on ours; she has shown the determination to stay with the program and succeed.Before her father's death, Safiya was a top student in her school, receiving all A's in her classes. After our partners' first visit where she told us she wanted to go to university, she went to different schools and gathered information about possible programs.
To study to be a doctor, Safiya will need to complete a four-year course. The cost is $1,700/year or a total of ONLY $6,800 to pay her university studies entirely!
Friends, can we come together to support Safiya? Here in the States, $1,700 only pays for a meal plan, much less an entire tuition! Let us be the answers to her prayers for the chance to continue her education!
